Emanuel Mond is president of SunGard's alternative investment business, which provides solutions for hedge funds, fund-of-funds, private equity funds and investors, family offices and fund administrators.
Mr. Mond joined London Business School Financial Software in 1991 and completed a buy-out in 1994, when the firm's name changed to Monis. Monis was acquired by SunGard in 2002. Previously, Mr. Mond spent more than five years with Warren & Selbert, a specialist in leasing software and consultancy.

Commentary
Changes in the alternative investments landscape are being driven by a number of distinct but related factors. A growing influx of institutional money into hedge funds has required an increase in management and operational transparency. This influx, and a growing number of hedge funds, has simultaneously resulted in the development of more complex products and trading strategies as funds fight to remain competitive and deliver high returns.
As a result, hedge fund managers are realizing the need for sophisticated technology to support their businesses across the entire investment.
